Did Lumen Say Goodbye? Find Out What Local Service Is All About Again
Lumen, formerly CenturyLink, stopped selling and renewing business voice on August 1, 2026. Las Vegas businesses can move to a local, licensed phone carrier, keep every number, and never miss a call.
What Lumen announced
- August 1, 2026: Lumen stopped selling and renewing business voice, including SIP trunking, Voice Complete, and voice for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, according to Channel Dive. Industry reports also list PRI circuits, analog lines, and toll-free service.
- Existing customers: current contracts are honored, then move to month-to-month instead of renewing.
- What comes next: on Lumen’s August earnings call, CFO Chris Stansbury said, “End of life is a different story; we’re going to be aggressive about that,” and called voice “not our future” (Channel Dive).
- Already gone: AT&T bought most of Lumen’s consumer fiber business in February 2026, including service areas in Las Vegas (Fierce Network).
Lumen had not published an end-of-life date for business voice when we checked on October 30, 2026. Lumen is a trademark of Lumen Technologies. USPBX is not affiliated with Lumen.
